Samantha and Bobby on the beach on their wedding day

here's where it started.

I decided to stop managing the life and start building it.

I'm Samantha. My husband Bobby and I are DINKWODs: Dual Income, No Kids, Working On Dreams. We have the season most people say they need — and I still wasn't moving the way I wanted to.

The gap between where I was and where I wanted to be wasn't a motivation problem. It was a friction problem. Every goal I had was running into invisible resistance I hadn't named yet.

So I started naming it. Then removing it. This site is the documentation of that process — not a highlight reel, not a finished product. The actual work, in real time, with the receipts.

"DINKWODs: Dual Income, No Kids, Working On Dreams. That's us."

5 friction-removal moves

The gap isn't a motivation problem.

It's a friction problem. These are the 5 moves I used to stop fighting myself and start making progress actually stick.

01

Eliminate the decision, not the behavior

I don't decide what to eat every day. I have a meal plan. The decision is made once. The behavior becomes automatic.

02

Start with the easiest change first

I didn't overhaul everything at once. I swapped to organic cotton basics. One friction point removed. Momentum built.

03

Separate goals so they don't sabotage each other

Trying to become a morning person while also starting a 6am workout routine? Those goals were fighting each other. I separated them.

04

Start smaller than feels worth it

Six minutes of Miracle Morning. Not an hour. Six minutes. It felt ridiculous. It worked.

05

Use what worked before, even if it's not recommended

A structured meal plan isn't trendy. It worked for me before. I stopped trying to make intuitive eating work and went back to what actually moved the needle.

The Miracle Morning

I started reading this because I kept failing at mornings. Not the concept of mornings. The execution. The SAVERS framework gave me something concrete to work with instead of just "have a morning routine."

I'm starting with 6 minutes. One minute per practice. It feels too small to matter. That's exactly why it works. The bar is low enough that I actually do it.

The SAVERS Method

S
SilenceMeditation or stillness. Even 2 minutes counts.
A
AffirmationsWhat you tell yourself about who you are.
V
VisualizationSee the version of yourself you're building toward.
E
ExerciseMove the body before the day has a chance to stop you.
R
ReadingInput that compounds over time.
S

The Gap That Closed (And Why I Almost Missed It)

14 min

The fitness gap I almost missed because I was too busy looking at everything still broken. What actually changed, why it stuck when everything else didn't, and what it means when a gap closes without you noticing.

the people doing the work with me

You don't build alone.

These are the professionals I've invested in to build the physical foundation. Not because I couldn't figure it out alone. Because the right support removes friction and accelerates the outcome.

Kokoro is the accountability structure that makes consistency possible instead of optional. I don't have to figure out what to do. I show up and do the work.

Physical Therapy

Miksell Physical Therapy

I'm building a body that can move without pain. Miksell PT uses hands-on assessment and personalized treatment, not just exercises and a send-off. They want to understand the root cause, not just manage symptoms.

The goal is a pain-free body that can keep up with the life I'm building. Surfing, hiking, training, keeping up with two dogs. That requires a foundation that actually works.
